25mm Calibration Cube - First Print!

Hollow 25mm Calibration Cube

To check calibration, the first thing I did was print a hollow cube from Thingiverse:

Steps to Print:
  1. Download Thingiverse file
  2. Double click on the .stl file to open Flashprint
  3. Click on Print
  4. Save g-code file
  5. Note time and material use
Sometimes it's a good idea to go back and rename your file according to how long it will take to print.

So this 25mm cube would be called:    25mmCube-31min.g
This way when you're looking for something to print with little time, you can always figure it out by the file name.

I loaded it onto the usb stick provided with the Finder, put it into the right side of the Finder and printed it from the menu with no problems.
The print took about 31 minutes and the Finder made a tune when it was complete.

Measuring up the cube, the dimensions were satisfactory but not exact.
The cube's program calls for 25.00mm but I got 25.18 x 25.28 x 25.05.

Lesson Learned:  use that tube that comes with the Finder! I didn't have it in because I had seen someone print without it but I didn't like the tension in the roll that it created.
